About the Role
We seek a software engineer deeply versed in core engineering principles such as maintaining clear separation of concerns, establishing robust abstraction boundaries resilient to change, implementing thoughtful error handling, and exercising wise complexity management rather than accumulation. A solid grasp of foundational layers beneath applications—networking, security principles including least privilege, API and SDK design, data modeling, as well as streaming and queuing technologies—is essential. Proficiency in Artificial Intelligence is equally important. Ideal candidates will have not just experimented with AI tools but crafted sophisticated workflows around them, understanding which problems AI models solve reliably versus where they produce errors. They maintain authoritative control over their architectures rather than relying passively on AI outputs. We seek multidimensional engineers competent across different facets.
Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of features from schema design and API contract definition through to user-facing interfaces.
- Engage in full-stack development across product components, adapting regularly to unfamiliar codebases.
- Deliberately apply AI tools, with readiness to explain the rationale behind their use or omission.
- Investigate and resolve complex, undocumented issues, including those arising in external code.
- Deliver robust releases, actively monitor system behavior post-deployment, and address any arising problems.
Requirements
- Proven professional software engineering background with at least two projects you can discuss in technical detail.
- A curious and investigative mindset that drives you to explore underlying mechanisms rather than take things at face value.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making when working with AI, including instances where you intelligently overrode generated solutions with clear justification.
- Versatility in working across multiple languages, frameworks, and legacy codebases, with a proven ability to become effective quickly in unfamiliar environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in DevOps practices such as continuous integration/deployment pipelines, containerization, cloud infrastructure management, and system monitoring, emphasizing sound deployment capabilities.
- A strong design sensibility: keen judgment around interface aesthetics, layout, visual hierarchy, and product cohesiveness that elevates user experience beyond mere assembly.
