Job Overview
We seek a seasoned Java Backend Engineer to build secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications and microservices tailored for enterprise and financial service environments in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain backend microservices, APIs, and services leveraging Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
- Create RESTful APIs and event-driven services following enterprise API and security protocols.
- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, and employ Azure DevOps for continuous delivery.
- Apply robust API security measures including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and mutual TLS, adhering to secure coding standards.
- Collaborate across architecture, DevOps, security, and product teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents, enhance application performance, and actively engage in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ backend development expertise, including over 3 years with Spring Boot microservices.
- Proficient in Java, Spring Boot frameworks, designing microservices, REST API development, and API Gateway management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes or OpenShift, Docker containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL, NoSQL options like MongoDB or Redis, and messaging systems including Kafka, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ.
- Background in fintech, payments, digital banking, financial technology, or banking sectors is required.
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems, resilience engineering, DevSecOps principles, OWASP practices, and secure software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in English is a must, and knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
