Within the Decisions Foundations division, the Partner Merchant Interfaces - Integration team is expanding and seeking a Software Engineer II to lead key projects integral to our APIs used by partners and merchants, including major clients like Amazon and Stripe.
Role Overview
As part of this dynamic team, you'll collaborate with tech leads and managers to decompose large projects into manageable tasks and deliver them incrementally, ensuring on-time completion. Furthermore, you will foster team growth through community engagement activities such as participating in interviewing candidates.
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 1.5 years' experience as a software engineer.
- Proven skills in designing, developing, and deploying backend systems, preferably with expertise in Python or Kotlin.
- Understanding of distributed system principles and familiarity with platforms and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in creating and scaling APIs using Python or Kotlin.
- Proficient in translating simple business problems into robust, well-tested, maintainable solutions involving multiple software components.
- Ability to navigate extensive codebases, debug code written by others, and provide constructive feedback through code reviews.
- Demonstrated ownership of personal and professional growth by proactively seeking and incorporating feedback.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities to effectively collaborate with a global engineering team.
- Qualifications include relevant practical experience or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
