Role Overview
As a Software Engineer at Balio, you will be responsible for building and modernising software across the portfolio companies. You will collaborate closely with product managers and teams to understand customer requirements, improve existing systems, and develop new functionalities including AI-driven capabilities. You will oversee projects from technical design through deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create product features, services, and integrations that address genuine customer challenges.
- Update and modernise legacy systems while preserving current business rules and workflows critical to customers.
- Make informed decisions regarding architecture, performance optimisation, and system reliability.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance development practices, maintaining responsibility for testing and code quality.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain software deliverables, and disseminate effective methods across the organisation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in building and maintaining production-level software.
- Strong foundational skills in programming and sound judgement for system design choices.
- Capability to comprehend unfamiliar codebases and resolve ambiguous problems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and accountable for delivering solutions from problem identification through to implementation.
