Role Overview
Driving Empire is a dynamic Roblox game featuring cars, customization, competition, and evolving gameplay, attracting millions of players. As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of this live game, delivering immersive player experiences. This role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration and direct deployment of your work to an enthusiastic community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and release engaging features enjoyed by millions daily.
- Manage gameplay feature lifecycle from coding to launch and refinement.
- Translate product requirements into actionable technical tasks and provide accurate estimates.
- Author clean, efficient, and maintainable Roblox Lua code adhering to team standards.
- Architect scalable, performant, and maintainable systems.
- Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and producers to create top-notch gameplay.
- Monitor live features for performance, proactively troubleshoot issues.
- Enhance codebase quality, improve development workflows, and increase system reliability.
- Participate actively in peer code reviews and help evolve engineering practices.
- Conduct playtesting and continuously improve user experience, responsiveness, and polish.
Candidate Profile
- 1 to 3+ years experience in Roblox or related game development environments.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of delivering production-ready features or games.
- Strong ownership, effective communication, and team collaboration abilities.
- Capable of independently handling feature development with moderate supervision.
- Proficient with version control systems and collaborative development processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience deploying games or features on Roblox or similar platforms.
- Participation in game jams or modding projects.
- Familiarity with live game services, including analytics, economy balancing, and tuning.
- Knowledge of performance optimization in multiplayer or real-time systems.
Technology Stack
- Roblox Lua scripting
- Backend services including AWS and Golang
- Analytics platforms such as Snowflake and Tableau
- Collaboration tools including GitHub and Discord
