Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer specializing in DevOps to join our Melbourne-based team. You will focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing secure, scalable cloud platforms while working closely with enterprise customers to deliver production-level cloud solutions. This role requires strong cloud and DevOps fundamentals and offers opportunities to grow in hands-on, customer-facing delivery. Collaboration with Customer Success, Enterprise Support, and Product Engineering teams is essential for continuous improvement of customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, manage, and enhance secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Automate infrastructure setup and configuration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
  • Ensure reliability, security, performance, and scalability of client cloud environments.
  • Apply cloud security best practices concerning identity access management, networking, encryption, and control access.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate consistent software deployment.
  • Automate operational tasks and environment provisioning.
  • Implement monitoring solutions including metrics collection, logging, alerting, and overall observability.
  • Manage release and configuration for production systems and oversee Kubernetes clusters.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize container-based workloads using tools like kubectl, Helm, and ingress controllers.
  • Collaborate directly with enterprise customers to support deployment and operational improvements.
  • Translate technical requirements into executable plans and contribute to architectural discussions.
  • Assist with incident management and troubleshooting in cloud and Kubernetes environments.
  • Work with internal teams to provide product feedback and enhance deployment experiences.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
  • Proven hands-on expertise with AWS cloud services and deployment of cloud applications.
  • Experience in building CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure deployment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in Linux systems, containerization, networking, and distributed systems.
  • Prior customer-facing technical experience, especially in banking or financial services, is highly valued.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and adaptability in dynamic environments.

Preferred Competencies

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Competency in observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana, plus cloud-native monitoring solutions.
  • Understanding of cloud security fundamentals.
  • Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
