Job description
About Flow Engineering
Flow Engineering is an AI-centric platform designed for contemporary engineering teams, facilitating collaboration between hardware teams and AI agents to efficiently design, verify, and advance complex systems with speed and precision.
Role Overview
We are looking for software engineers to develop AI-driven features that enhance how teams create, review, and handle requirements. This involves working on agentic systems and domain engineer workflows, centralizing AI in systems reasoning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI-enhanced functions like assisted requirement drafting, consistency verification, impact evaluation, and intelligent recommendations tailored for systems and domain engineers.
- Create agentic workflows enabling engineers to explore designs, simulate modifications, and validate requirements efficiently.
- Assess and integrate language models and related tools focusing on production reliability, response time, cost-effectiveness, and debuggability.
- Construct and sustain essential infrastructure including data pipelines, evaluation tools, prompt and model management, monitoring, and safety mechanisms.
- Implement solutions across the technology stack from backend APIs to user interface elements to deliver complete AI functionalities rather than just model endpoints.
- Collaborate with product teams and customers to identify impactful workflows, execute experiments, and swiftly iterate based on feedback and usage data.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years experience building and maintaining production-quality software, including designing, testing, and operating scalable cloud services.
- Proficient with current large language model (LLM) providers and tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques.
- Knowledgeable in prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented systems, evaluation strategies, and safety or guardrail methodologies.
- Able to critically evaluate and balance different models, system architectures, and deployment methods to make pragmatic design choices.
- Thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with high ownership where rapid experimentation and continuous iteration are encouraged.
Technology Stack
- Utilizes TypeScript/Node.js and Python for backend AI services and application development.
- Employs modern LLM APIs and orchestration libraries for constructing agentic workflows.
- Works with Postgres and other managed cloud services for data storage and state management.
Work Culture and Values
- Prioritizes rapid prototyping of AI workflows followed by robust production hardening.
- Emphasizes clear ownership: each feature from concept to deployment has a responsible lead.
- Ensures foundational elements like evaluation, monitoring, and safety are integral from the start, not retroactive additions.
- Offers competitive compensation and valuable equity stakes.
- Includes health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Supports flexible time off, learning opportunities, experimentation, and staying updated with AI industry advancements.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is between £80,000 and £180,000 per year.
