Join Compare the Market as a Software Engineer in the Commercial Journeys team based in London. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and leadership to design technical solutions considering both operational and technical trade-offs.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams across the organization to enhance efficiency and eliminate workflow obstacles.
- Take ownership of critical phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, security, and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure that testing procedures and security standards are thoroughly integrated into the software developed by the team.
- Participate actively in engineering knowledge communities to share and expand technical expertise.
- Engage effectively in team software development practices such as paired programming, code and documentation reviews, and continuous delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience primarily with Node.js backend development, plus strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript; exposure to .NET is advantageous.
- Experience working with Agentic AI workflows and related integrations.
- Skilled in building scalable, highly available software services and products.
- Competent in designing and managing continuous integration and deployment pipelines to build resilient software systems.
- Possesses knowledge of security engineering practices and methods to ensure software integrity.
- Creative problem solver who is capable of organizing and leading a team around challenges.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and lean principles.
- Committed to continuous learning and professional growth in both technical skills and workplace competencies.
