About Base360.ai and The Flex
Base360.ai is an AI-powered platform designed to automate and streamline operations for short-term rental businesses. Originating from The Flex, Algeria's largest short-term rental operator, which has grown into an eight-figure enterprise through proprietary software, Base360.ai now serves short-term rental operators globally.
This platform integrates functionalities such as reservations, guest communications, pricing, payments, cleaning, maintenance, and reporting into a single system, enabling operators to automate manual tasks, cut expenses, boost revenue, and scale their rental portfolios.
Role Overview
We seek a driven Software Engineer based in Algeria who is passionate about developing scalable solutions that address real-world challenges. You'll engage in building, deploying, automating, and delivering products that impact property managers, their teams, and guests directly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Base360.ai, serving core business processes including customer-facing applications, automation systems, AI-driven workflows, and integrations.
- Support the entire short-term rental lifecycle from listing distribution and pricing to bookings, guest stays, operational management, and financial reporting.
- Architect and implement scalable services and APIs handling reservations, availability, pricing, payments, guest experience, and property management.
- Create event-based automation workflows to reduce repetitive activities such as scheduling cleaning, sending check-in instructions, and generating owner financial reports.
- Leverage AI technologies including large language models and AI agents to automate guest interactions, maintenance request handling, pricing strategy aid, and portfolio management assistance.
- Design API-first architectures that connect internal components, booking platforms, external providers, and user systems robustly.
- Establish and maintain integrations with third-party platforms like Airbnb, Hostaway, Stripe, Twilio, OpenAI, and Google.
- Address complex operational challenges such as real-time synchronization of reservations and availability, dynamic pricing, smart lock/key management, multi-channel guest communications, cleaning and maintenance automation, comprehensive owner reporting, and AI-powered monitoring and alerting.
- Take full ownership of projects from problem assessment through architecture, implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Technology Stack
- Python with FastAPI framework
- React and TypeScript for front-end
- Supabase and PostgreSQL databases
- AWS cloud services using serverless architecture
- Third-party APIs including OpenAI, Twilio, Stripe
- Containerization using Docker and CI/CD with GitHub Actions
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in building and maintaining production software.
- Familiarity with Python, FastAPI, React, or equivalent frameworks.
- Strong understanding of API design, database systems, and cloud architectures.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions.
- Problem-solving aptitude combined with a product-focused mindset.
- Interest in AI, automation, and enhancing operational efficiency.
- A proactive approach focused on delivering, iterating, and learning from user feedback.
Additional pluses include experience in short-term rental or hospitality technology, SaaS multi-tenancy, booking channel integrations, AI agents, event-driven designs, Supabase, or AWS serverless environments.
What We Offer
- Work on impactful solutions addressing the daily challenges faced by short-term rental operators with direct access to operational insights from The Flex.
- High degree of autonomy and responsibility over technical choices.
- Close collaboration with founders in a small team with large growth potential.
- Rich learning opportunities in software engineering, AI, automation, and hospitality management.
- Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives.
- Fully remote work within Algeria, focusing on outcomes rather than fixed hours.
Important Notes
- This role is unsuitable for those preferring slow-paced corporate settings.
- It requires willingness to handle broad product involvement rather than narrowly defined duties.
- Expect to work independently with limited oversight and embrace full ownership and accountability.
