iSelect and Compare the Market are respected Australian brands dedicated to assisting millions in comparing and purchasing personal finance and household products, including insurance, energy, and loans. Together, we deliver a seamless, customer-centric experience that helps Australians select products suited to their needs.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to building and continuously improving software solutions that provide meaningful benefits to our customers. Working within an Agile team, you will implement secure, scalable, and high-quality applications using modern engineering practices. Your key duties include development and maintenance of digital products, writing clean and well-tested code, participating in code reviews, and engaging in technical discussions related to design, technology choices, and solution implementation.
You will actively participate in Agile ceremonies and adopt DevSecOps principles focusing on automation, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), security, and ongoing enhancement of delivery processes. Collaboration with developers, product owners, project managers, and architects is essential to drive effective communication and foster a positive team environment.
Embracing continuous learning, you will keep up with technological advancements, share knowledge with peers, and engage in professional growth activities. Leveraging AI-powered tools and new technologies to boost development efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, improve code quality, and accelerate deployment while maintaining stringent security and engineering standards is a significant aspect of this role.
What We Offer

- A culture centered on shared values of Drive, Noble Intent, and All Together guiding our work ethic and customer commitment.
- Participation in a vibrant community with events including annual celebrations and family fun days.
- Flexible working arrangements, including the choice of one remote day per week or a 9-day fortnight schedule.
- Extra leave benefits such as ‘ME’ leave and ‘Volunteer Day’ leave, plus the option to purchase additional leave.
- Complimentary coffee every Monday.
- A Return To Work bonus for parents rejoining the workforce.
- Recognition through quarterly awards and honors.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in full-stack software development environments.
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks, especially React, and/or Java and Node.js development.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services, serverless computing, and event-driven architectural patterns.
- Experience with modern continuous integration and delivery practices, observability tools, and comprehensive software lifecycle development.
- Interest and practical exposure to AI-assisted development tools, and enthusiasm for adopting emerging technologies to enhance productivity, code robustness, testing efficiency, and delivery timelines.
- Experience working within regulated industries and hybrid delivery models is advantageous.
