Role Overview
We are hiring a full-time Software Engineer to be based on-site in Mogadishu. The successful candidate will design, build, and sustain software components essential to HOTEL-ERP’s main products, focusing primarily on robust and efficient backend systems. Day-to-day tasks include producing clean, testable code, conducting peer code reviews, debugging, and enhancing system performance. Collaboration with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers is key to convert requirements into effective technical implementations and guarantee high-quality software releases. Responsibilities also encompass participation in system design discussions, documentation contributions, and support for continuous integration and deployment.
Qualifications
- Strong grounding in Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.
- Proficient in software development and programming with experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C#, or Python.
- Practical experience in backend web development, involving API creation, database interaction, and server-side frameworks.
- Solid knowledge and application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, version control systems like Git, and basic DevOps methodologies.
- Capability to interpret requirements, design software solutions, and troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams in an onsite setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or comparable practical experience.
- Experience with ERP systems or hospitality industry software is an advantage.
