Primary Responsibilities

• Guide your team to architect scalable, innovative software solutions, selecting appropriate technologies to solve complex challenges.

About the Team

The Region Flexibility & Efficiency group underpins Amazon’s rapid global infrastructure growth, supporting major business units such as Worldwide Stores, Alexa, Kindle, and Prime Video. The team champions the adoption of cutting-edge AWS and third-party technologies, collaborating closely with AWS to enhance public offerings. Their focus is on delivering robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions by following engineering best practices, building core infrastructure, tools, and datasets that empower Amazon teams to create exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years managing engineering teams.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience within engineering teams.
• 3 or more years of experience designing or architecting new or existing systems with attention to design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
• 8+ years leading the development of multi-tier web services.
• Strong knowledge of engineering practices across the entire software, hardware, and network development lifecycle, including coding standards, reviews, source control, build and test processes, certification, and live operations.
• Experience collaborating with product and program management functions.

Preferred Experience

• Proficiency in engaging with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, define product features, technical architectures, and strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, mentor, and manage software engineers to enhance their technical skills and productivity.

The position offers a competitive salary range of 171,400 to 286,200 CAD annually, and may include sign-on bonuses and stock-based compensation.
