Job description
Role Overview
This Software Development Manager (Level 6) will lead a team developing innovative AI-powered systems focused on enhancing Selling Partner Negotiations and the Selling Partner Experience. The primary responsibilities include delivering Agentic AI capabilities such as the Selling Partner Chat Solution (Delphi) and building scalable negotiation technologies to efficiently manage terms with 1P Selling Partners, securing competitive costs to benefit customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle delivery of solutions using a modern technology stack including AWS, Machine Learning, Agentic AI, React, and large-scale data analytics.
- Drive multi-agent orchestration, proactive recommendations, and data-driven negotiation tools.
- Collaborate deeply in retail domains such as Supply Chain, Cost Management, and Procurement.
- Manage and grow a team of over 10 Software Development Engineers.
- Partner with Applied Scientists, Product Managers, and senior leadership to translate complex generative AI and communication challenges into execution plans.
- Drive recruitment and build a high-performing engineering team.
- Influence technical direction aligned with retail strategy and engineering objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years managing engineering teams.
- At least 7 years of professional engineering experience.
- Over 8 years guiding development and definition of multi-tier web services.
- Strong knowledge of engineering best practices throughout the full software lifecycle, including coding standards, reviews, version control, build automation, testing, certification, and live site operations.
- Experience collaborating with product or program management teams.
- Background designing or architecting scalable, reliable systems using established design patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate with users, technical teams, and senior leaders to gather requirements and describe product features and strategies.
- Experience recruiting, mentoring, coaching, and managing software engineering teams to enhance skills and productivity.
