Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Development Manager in Chennai, India, to lead software engineering teams that build scalable, secure, and innovative web applications. This role involves collaborating across functions to turn business needs into technical solutions, managing project priorities, mentoring team members, and sustaining high-quality delivery in a fast-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams to develop high-quality, scalable applications that align with business goals.
• Plan and oversee multiple project timelines, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-standard delivery.
• Provide technical direction on web application architectures and microservices utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and cloud platforms.
• Establish coding standards alongside automated testing and CI/CD processes to minimize defects and optimize performance.
• Collaborate closely with product management, QA, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Mentor and develop engineering team members, fostering continual growth and a learning culture.
• Perform application performance tuning, debugging, and profiling to meet reliability and efficiency goals.
• Adapt to changing requirements, anticipate risks, and maintain delivery quality in dynamic conditions, while staying current with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), messaging systems (Kafka, Tibco), and automation tools.
• Promote ongoing improvement and implementation of modern engineering practices to support organization success.

Required Experience and Skills

• Strong skills in software design and web application architecture.
• Proficiency in Java with extensive experience in Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
• Hands-on experience building microservices with Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with cloud services, preferably AWS or Azure.
• Experience working with messaging technologies such as Tibco, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus.
• Proven use of tools and processes for writing clean, low-defect code.
• Expertise in Java performance tuning, debugging, and profiling methodologies.
• Experience using collaboration tools like Lightspeed Enterprise, Bitbucket, GitHub Enterprise, and Harness.
• Practice with automated testing frameworks including JUnit5 and Cucumber.
