About the Role
Join Genesys as a Software Development Engineer focused on UI development within the Work Automation team, based in Galway. This role involves building AI-enabled experiences that empower organizations to manage and automate work within customer interaction platforms. You will develop user interfaces primarily using Angular framework, collaborating closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineering colleagues to deliver intuitive, accessible, and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust applications and reusable UI components using Angular.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features from design through deployment, testing, and support in production.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with emphasis on quality assurance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical challenges independently, collaborating when necessary.
- Engage actively in code reviews and technical discussions, providing and receiving feedback constructively.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into effective software solutions.
- Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and other services within the Genesys platform.
- Consider performance, security, accessibility, and usability during daily development activities.
- Utilize operational telemetry data to analyze feature behavior and assist in troubleshooting production issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering practices and user experience quality.
Candidate Profile
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software development focusing significantly on web or UI applications.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience working with Angular or similar component-based frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive web design principles.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Familiarity with unit testing and automated testing practices standard in software development.
- Solid grasp of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience using version control systems and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on well-defined product areas.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to engage well across engineering and product teams.
- A user-centric mindset focused on building intuitive and enjoyable software experiences.
Additional Desired Skills
- Experience supporting large-scale SaaS or enterprise-grade web applications.
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Knowledge of frontend state management and asynchronous programming patterns.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards and practices.
- Experience with observability, telemetry, or frontend performance monitoring tools.
- Involvement with design systems or reusable component library development.
- Awareness of microservices and distributed cloud architectures.
- Interest or experience with AI-integrated development and product features.
