Job description
About the Role
Developers globally depend on AWS Load Balancing services to maintain high availability for their applications. AWS's success stems from its top-tier network and server infrastructure, which manages incredible scale and integrates emerging technologies swiftly. We seek a skilled Software Engineer to join the Internal DNS team, supporting customer onboarding to AWS Load Balancing.
This team is responsible for creating services enabling safe DNS creation and management within our software load balancing solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and monitor tools and services that empower customers to efficiently manage their network resources to ensure their service availability and adherence to best practices.
Key Opportunities and Responsibilities
You will have a distinctive chance to develop software accelerating customer onboarding to AWS services, advancing Amazon’s capability to simplify customer journeys and instill confidence via analytics offering migration health insights. You'll tackle Amazon's most challenging problems, delivering high-quality, architecturally robust systems aligned with business goals. Your work will emphasize simplicity, innovativeness, sound judgment, and may contribute to intellectual property through patents.
Within AWS Utility Computing (UC), which delivers foundational and innovative cloud services, you'll contribute to Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity applications. The AWS Dedicated Cloud (ADC) segment works with customers requiring specialized security solutions.
Your Contribution
- Design solutions by engaging directly with customer needs rather than simply executing given specifications.
- Automate operations and nurture innovation continuously.
- Embrace software craftsmanship by prioritizing writing correct code from the outset, integrating code reviews and automation testing as core practices.
- Deliver fast, iterative solutions focused on early customer value.
- Own your code from launch through support and improvement phases.
- Apply high creativity and sound judgment to simplify complex issues.
- Mentor peers and contribute actively to team growth.
- Thrive in a flexible, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in professional software development outside internship roles.
- Background in designing or architecting scalable and reliable systems using design patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience covering full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, version control, builds, testing, and operations.
