Role Overview

The company seeks a skilled Software Engineer with advanced Python expertise to join their Singapore engineering team. This diverse role encompasses three key domains: developing production-ready Python applications used by the platform and its clients; designing and enhancing scalable data pipelines that handle time-sensitive trading data; and creating robust reliability and observability frameworks that monitor system health through metrics, logging, dashboards, and alerting. Candidates should enjoy complex technical challenges and desire end-to-end ownership of systems, collaborating closely with top-tier engineers in a culture valuing precision, performance, and quality craftsmanship.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient and high-quality Python applications.
• Create and scale robust data pipelines for real-time and archived trading datasets.
• Implement tools for reliability and observability including metrics, logs, tracing systems, dashboards, and alerts to ensure system transparency and health.
• Identify and address performance issues within applications and data workflows.
• Collaborate across platform, infrastructure, and client teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Contribute to defining best practices in testing, code quality, automation, and system architecture.
• Own system components fully, from initial design through deployment to continuous enhancement.

Skills and Qualifications

• Extensive Python programming skills, capable of writing clean, efficient, and production-grade code.
• Solid foundation in computer science principles including data structures, algorithms, system design, and software testing.
• A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a closely related discipline from a respected university.
• Proven experience designing and shipping dependable software in demanding technical environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and passion for technology innovation.

Preferred Additional Experience (Not Mandatory)

• Familiarity with building data pipelines or ETL processes using tools such as Airflow, Kafka, or Spark.
• Exposure to major cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of Linux environments, container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Interest or prior exposure to financial markets, trading systems, or low-latency computing (training available).
