Software Commissioning Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Software Commissioning Engineer to be based in Dubai, responsible for the commissioning of automation system software, preparation of training documentation, conducting customer training, and resolving software faults during trial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out software commissioning activities following the commissioning schedule; verify system logic, functionalities, and interfaces; document test outcomes; identify and report software defects and irregular behaviors.
• Create comprehensive software operation training resources and official manuals; design structured training programs catering to management, operators, and maintenance teams; deliver on-site training sessions.
• Diagnose and resolve software, workflow, and interface problems encountered during trial runs; analyze the root causes and collaborate with R&D to apply necessary corrections.
• Coordinate with the electrical and controls commissioning engineer for joint debugging and validation of software and hardware controls to ensure end-to-end system functionality.
• Gather customer feedback regarding software features, keep version control records updated, and revise operational documents as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Automation, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience in software commissioning for automated logistics, warehouse management, or material handling systems; familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), or automation control software logic.
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to independently develop detailed English software manuals and training materials.
• Comfortable delivering technical training in person to diverse customer user groups.
• Excellent analytical and logical reasoning capabilities for fault identification and clear articulation of software issues.
• Proficient in English to facilitate effective daily technical communication with international clients.
• Ability to be stationed in Dubai to conduct site commissioning and adhere to project timelines.
