Job Overview

The Global CAD team at Qualcomm designs and implements RTL to GDSII flows for advanced low power and high performance System on Chips (SoCs) that power state-of-the-art chipsets. The position involves software development within the Front-End CAD Team, contributing to next-generation design flows in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create software tools for design automation and reference workflow development.
  • Meet project milestones effectively ensuring timely delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve development issues throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate with development teams to maintain high code quality standards.
  • Propose enhancements to methodologies, quality assurance processes, compilation environments, and documentation.
  • Support design teams with tool usage assistance and debugging.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related Science or Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum one year experience programming with Python.
  • Preferred: software engineering background; experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Git Source Control Management and strong Linux operating system skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.
  • Knowledge of C++ is an asset.
  • Understanding of RTL languages (Verilog, System Verilog) and design verification is desirable.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a geographically dispersed development team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
