About Camphill Communities of Ireland and Role Overview
Camphill Communities of Ireland (CCoI) is dedicated to supporting individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities as well as autism through residential and day programs across 15 locations. We are seeking Social Care Assistants to join our committed team in County Kilkenny to help provide these individuals with a supportive and fulfilling environment that enables them to live lives like any other.
This role is available on both a full-time and part-time basis with a permanent contract, offering a competitive salary range of 34,884 to 43,193 annually.
Key Responsibilities and Working Conditions
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver support and care tailored to the needs of vulnerable adults and individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Follow established care plans and approaches to ensure the ongoing well-being and development of those supported.
- Engage in continuous learning and cooperation within a national organization recognized for its standards in social care.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Possess at least a QQI Level 5 Major Award or equivalent in Social Care Studies, Community Care, or Health and Social Care.
- Demonstrate a minimum of one year of practical experience working with adults who have intellectual disabilities or are otherwise vulnerable.
- Understand current national and sectoral policies related to social care within disability services.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Have proficient skills in IT applications relevant to the role, including Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Hold a full driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle, which is mandatory for the position.
- Successful candidates will undergo Garda Vetting and police clearance checks for all countries of residence exceeding six months since the age of 18, as well as reference verification.

Minimum education
Diploma / ITI / Vocational
