Skilled Leak Detection Technician (Night Shift)

About the Role

Hydrosave (UK) Ltd, a leading specialist in pipeline inspection, leak detection, valve maintenance, and water auditing, seeks a Skilled Leak Detection Technician to join their night shift team based in Bellshill, covering the southern region. The position contributes directly to optimizing water network efficiency, reducing water loss, and improving sustainability. Working outdoors in a dynamic environment, technicians perform complex leak detection and quantification tasks using specialist equipment and methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute advanced leakage detection and survey operations with specialised tools and established techniques.
• Conduct Step testing and quantify customer-side leakage accurately.
• Organize and carry out leakage survey campaigns aligned with the Leakage Operating Model.
• Attend and verify dry hole reports and quantify leakage where necessary.
• Apply technical insight and analytical skills to precisely identify difficult leaks.
• Follow health, safety, NRSWA, and environmental regulations rigorously on all assignments.
• Deliver excellent customer service reflecting the company's Right First-Time philosophy.
• Perform risk assessments and maintain safe work environments for yourself and colleagues onsite.
• Collaborate with team members, share expertise, and represent the company with professionalism.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leak detection specifically within the water industry.
• Strong hands-on ability and proficiency with digital tools and leak detection devices.
• Effective communication and customer service skills; friendly, professional, and solution-oriented.
• Solid knowledge of water distribution systems and principles of leakage control.
• A proactive approach with initiative, ownership, and continuous improvement mindset.
• Possession of a full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NRSWA accreditation is an advantage.
• Training in Manual Handling or Underground Cable Detection is desirable.
• Previous exposure to similar utility or field technical roles is beneficial.

• Annual salary ranging from £26,644 to £28,198 plus additional night shift allowances.
