Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

About the Role

The Technical Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team manages TikTok's entire infrastructure and applications to ensure the production environment supports our rapidly expanding global user base. Our core focus lies in maintaining system stability, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the highest levels of reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability and reliable performance of the company's core infrastructure.
• Establish and enforce Operation and Maintenance (O&M) standards and standard operating procedures.
• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve technical system issues collaboratively with technical teams.
• Develop and implement system capacity planning, performance testing, and fault tolerance strategies.
• Research and adopt innovative large-scale system architectures and cutting-edge technologies to enhance system efficiency.
• Design and build automated and intelligent O&M platforms for improved system maintenance.
• Formulate delivery standards covering budgeting, resource provisioning, and capacity assessments to optimize company IT expenditures.
• Design and implement new Internet Data Centers (IDC) and data protection plans compliant with relevant standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of computer software, including Linux operating system, storage, and network I/O principles.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Java, including understanding of design patterns and coding principles.
• Familiarity with Elastic Search technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with storage systems and databases such as KV, Table, Graph, Redis, MySQL, MongoDB, Message Queues (MQ), and Kafka.
• Hands-on expertise with big data and computing frameworks including Kubernetes, Docker/Containers, AIops, Spark, Flink, Function as a Service, RPC frameworks, and Service Mesh architectures.
