Site Civil Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Site Civil Engineer to lead construction site execution and project oversight. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between design teams, project management, subcontractors, and labor to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all civil engineering activities on-site, covering from earthworks and foundation stages to superstructure completion and final handover, ensuring full alignment with approved structural drawings and specifications.
• Perform daily inspections focusing on structural elements, reinforcement layouts, concrete pouring processes, and conduct materials testing such as soil quality, concrete slump tests, and curing strength checks at 7 and 28 days.
• Estimate and optimize material usage, maintain and track Bills of Quantities (BOQ), oversee materials procurement onsite, and manage subcontractor invoicing and billing processes.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, design engineers, and local regulatory authorities to resolve operational issues and address design discrepancies onsite.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, and labor teams, efficiently assigning shifts and resolving technical challenges as they arise.
• Implement and enforce health and safety guidelines compliant with OSHA or local equivalents, ensuring adherence to environmental norms and building regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation through daily progress reports, site logs, inventory records, and change order documentation.

Technical Expertise and Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, structural engineering principles, concrete technology, and foundation layout techniques.
• Expertise in billing processes and site measurement methods.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret structural, MEP, and architectural blueprints accurately.
• Hands-on experience with surveying devices including robotic total stations, dumpy levels, and GPS trackers.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, and standard office software like MS Excel for planning and project management.
• Strong skills in project planning, cost estimation, and critical problem-solving.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a recognized institution.
• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience working as a Site Engineer, with a history of managing commercial, residential, or large infrastructure projects from initial mobilization through to completion.
