Sheet Metal and Roofing Technician

Job Overview

Dominion Roofing and Sheet Metal Works is seeking dedicated full-time Flat Roofing Service Technicians for ongoing employment throughout the year. The role requires hands-on experience in various roofing systems, the ability to perform repairs, customer interaction, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Primary Duties

• Expertise in installing and repairing commercial and residential flat roofing systems including 4-ply, 2-ply, modified bitumen, peel and stick, and single ply roofing.
• Detect and complete necessary repairs on roofs.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and work cooperatively within a team environment.
• Operate safely by following company health and safety protocols.
• Drive company vehicle equipped with 407 Transponder to work sites.
• Work with modified bitumen systems, including hot and cold applications, and built-up roofing technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years practical experience in flat roofing is required.
• Knowledge of shingle roofing, metal roofing, or aluminum fabrication is considered advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and necessary training certificates; additional training will be provided if required.

Junior Service Technician Role

This position includes a junior technician role paired with a seasoned expert to facilitate skill development in roofing, siding, commercial roofing, aluminum systems like soffit, fascia, and eavestrough installation, and customized metal fabrication.

• Basic familiarity with digital devices and customer service applications.
• Aptitude and willingness to learn and operate construction tools.
• Training in working at heights and readiness for manual labor tasks.
• Strict adherence to safety standards and teamwork principles.
• Effective customer communication skills.
• Provision of a work truck and mobile phone to facilitate daily tasks and travel.
