Sewing Technician

About the Role

As a Sewing Technician at Brogan Fire & Safety located in Grande Prairie, Alberta, you will report directly to the Business Centre Manager. Your primary duty is to professionally and promptly complete repairs on protective apparel, ensuring the correct fabric and thread materials are used. You will also inspect garments for repairs not listed on the FireTrack work sheets, perform necessary fixes, and accurately document all work done.

Main Responsibilities

• Carry out all repairs following the company's Established Repairs Procedure.
• Use appropriate thread and materials for every repair task.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of garments to identify and fix any needed repairs ensuring protective apparel meets all applicable standards and guidelines.
• Complete tasks efficiently and within expected timeframes.
• Maintain cleanliness by organizing your workspace, collecting tools and materials, and sweeping at the end of each workday.
• Keep tools and equipment in optimal condition by performing routine maintenance.
• Update paperwork including work orders, status updates, and customer reports as required.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

• Maintain a professional and courteous manner.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively.
• Good organizational skills.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Previous sewing experience and familiarity with maintenance of safety equipment or relevant industry training is advantageous.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Training will be provided to suitable candidates where necessary.
