Setting Out Engineer

Job Overview

Criterion Capital is looking to recruit a proficient and meticulous Setting Out Engineer. This role involves performing precise site setting out and surveying tasks to ensure construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct setting out and surveying for buildings, infrastructure, and associated construction works.
• Operate total stations, leveling instruments, and necessary surveying devices with accuracy and efficiency.
• Compute coordinates, elevation levels, and dimensions essential for site implementation.
• Create computer-generated survey reports and document as-built data accurately.
• Perform site mark-ups ensuring proper alignment, location, and elevation of construction elements.
• Interpret construction and shop drawings as well as design documentation closely.
• Collaborate with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to address any setting out challenges.
• Maintain surveying processes compliant with project specifications, quality control standards, and safety protocols.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Between three and five years of experience in setting out and surveying within construction projects.
• A bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in using various total stations and leveling instruments.
• Strong skills in calculating coordinates and generating accurate survey reports.
• Demonstrated experience in site mark-ups and setting out assignments.
• Solid knowledge of construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and adaptability to site conditions.
