Services Electrician

Overview

The Services Electrician will be tasked with providing safe and high-quality electrical installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting services across various sectors including mining, industrial, infrastructure, and utilities. This role encompasses work on both local and remote sites, supporting activities such as new installations, brownfield upgrades, maintenance shutdowns, and commissioning, all while adhering to the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

Core Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Set up cable management systems such as cable ladders, trays, conduits, and underground networks.
• Install and terminate high voltage (HV), low voltage (LV), extra-low voltage (ELV), instrumentation, and communication cabling.
• Install and commission switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), marshalling panels, field devices, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Execute testing, fault diagnosis, commissioning, and energisation procedures.
• Perform electrical modifications, upgrades, shutdown tasks, and routine maintenance work.
• Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all tasks follow company policies and client standards for safety, efficiency, and quality.

Mandatory Requirements

• Possession of a current A Grade Electrical Licence.
• Formal Electrical Trade Qualification.
• Valid White Card for construction safety.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• CPR and First Aid certifications.
• National Police Clearance certificate.
• Ability to understand and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work on both local and remote assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mining, industrial, or construction environments.
• Authorization or experience in high voltage switching (HV Switching).
• Elevating Work Platform (EWP) licence.
• Training or certification for working at heights.
• Confined Space Entry certification.
• Knowledge or experience in instrumentation and communications systems.
• Experience with shutdowns and commissioning procedures.
