Service Technician - Australia

Position Overview

Work Environment and Location

You will be based across regional Australia with specific sites including Merredin, Jurien Bay, and Geraldton in Western Australia; Port Augusta, Whyalla, Millicent, and Mt Gambier in South Australia; Warrnambool, Ballarat, and Sale in Victoria; Canberra, Goulburn, Inverell, and Glen Innes in New South Wales; Hughenden, Chinchilla, Dulacca, and Atherton in Queensland; plus Musselroe and Granville Harbour in Tasmania. This is not a fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) role; candidates need to reside within or near these regions.

Typical work involves an 8-hour day with approximately one on-call weekend every three to four weeks. Anticipate around 50 travel days per year supporting various sites.

Primary Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to safety and environmental policies while achieving service targets.
• Conduct regular inspection and maintenance activities according to company standards, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system troubleshooting and part replacement.
• Ensure turbines operate efficiently using condition monitoring and remote control systems.
• Manage service vehicles and maintain inventory by ordering requisite parts, tools, and materials.
• Assemble and service components following established procedures, utilizing cranes when necessary.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements

• Possess a trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulics and demonstrate enthusiasm to enhance skills within these disciplines.
• Proficiency with computers and various monitoring and documentation systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
• Physically fit to climb turbines and perform demanding tasks at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible to travel across different sites as required.
• Collaborative attitude to work closely with team members and engage with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, be solution-focused, and maintain organizational efficiency.
