Service Designer

About the Role

Aldar Education is seeking a Service Designer to join their team in Abu Dhabi immediately to support their expanding group of owned and managed schools across the UAE. The role focuses on designing and documenting comprehensive service processes that enhance operational efficiency and promote digital transformation initiatives. Collaborating with headquarters and school teams, the Service Designer will identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives to improve user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and documentation of integrated service processes across Aldar Education's headquarters and school operations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to review existing workflows, pinpoint inefficiencies, and propose improvements including automation and digital solutions.
• Create detailed service blueprints, process maps, and operational models supporting digital transformation efforts.
• Design scalable and efficient processes consistent with Aldar Education’s operational and digital strategies.
• Assist in implementing digital tools by defining and refining supporting business processes.
• Advocate best practices in service and process design emphasizing user-centered service delivery.
• Conduct operational workflow analyses to identify areas for optimization.
• Develop comprehensive documentation such as service blueprints, user journeys, RACI models, and operating procedures with clear roles and governance.
• Partner with Digital & Technology teams to ensure processes facilitate automation, integration, enhanced data visibility, and optimized service delivery.
• Translate organizational needs into process requirements to aid digital product development.
• Engage with HQ departments, schools, and digital teams through workshops and discovery sessions to gather insights and support adoption of new service models.
• Continuously seek opportunities to simplify, standardize, and enhance operational practices focusing on stakeholders including parents, students, teachers, and internal staff.
• Maintain and govern a centralized repository of service documentation ensuring clarity and consistency.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, Service Design, Operations Management, Digital Transformation, or a related discipline.
• Certifications or formal training in Service Design, Process Design, or Design Thinking preferred.
• Between 5 and 8 years’ experience in service design, process improvement, operational excellence, or roles supporting digital transformation.
• Proven experience in designing operational workflows and enriching service experiences within multifaceted organizations.
• Hands-on experience collaborating with digital product teams and in technology implementation projects.
