Role Overview

As the Assistant Manager in the Deli Department reporting to the Deli Manager, you will support daily department operations including ensuring product availability and delivering excellent customer service. Key responsibilities include team leadership and coaching, inventory and stock management, merchandising, staff rostering, and general department support.

Availability Expectations

• Work schedule Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm
• Occasional Saturday or Sunday shifts on a fortnightly rotation
• Flexibility to cover shifts during team leaves
• Willingness to assist at nearby store locations when needed

Candidate Profile

• Previous food handling experience within a retail supermarket setting
• Proven ability to lead and coach team members effectively
• A positive, solutions-oriented attitude
• Strong communication and customer service capabilities
• Commitment to maintaining workplace health and safety standards
• Experience with stock control and merchandising practices
• Good understanding of retail business operations with strong commercial awareness
