We deliver high-quality journalism day and night to people across Germany through the internet and public video screens located in city centers, train stations, and shopping malls. Our monthly reach extends to 47 million individuals, covering over half of the German population. Our editorial standards are clear, distinguishing strictly between news and opinion pieces, maintaining transparency in our source usage, and positioning ourselves centrally in societal values. Over 170 journalists work in our newsroom based in Berlin-Mitte as well as in various regional offices in Germany, Washington, and Melbourne.
Role Overview
We are currently seeking an SEO Content Manager to join our team in Berlin at the earliest opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within our news editorial team by lending SEO expertise to support the desk, identifying numerous traffic-oriented topics, and optimizing content.
- Analyze web traffic using diverse SEO tools and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the SEO department, stay informed on current trends, and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Google's platforms, notably Discover and Google News.
- Contribute daily to building a robust and successful journalistic offering by helping steer our content strategy, sharing insights to identify and prioritize the best topics.
Qualifications
- Possess a journalistic or equivalent educational background, ideally with practical experience in publisher-focused SEO and proficient writing skills.
- Demonstrate a fast and meticulous working style, thriving in the fast-paced environment of a news editorial office.
- Be sensitive to topics that engage readers and have potential for extensive reach.
- Enjoy participating actively in the dynamic day-to-day life of a news newsroom.
- Accept the occasional weekend work requirement (maximum once per month).
- Show interest in a broad scope of news and evergreen content, supporting various departments to create highly informative and entertaining materials.
