Job Role Overview

This full-time remote position is for a Senior Video Editor supporting a well-established video production and social content agency based in Auckland, New Zealand. The role involves crafting compelling short-form video content.

Key Responsibilities

• Editing short videos such as Reels, TikToks, paid social media content, and other short-form formats ranging from 15 to 60 seconds using raw footage.
• Spotting effective hooks, soundbites, and storytelling angles to captivate viewers.
• Transforming longer interview recordings into several brief social media clips.
• Selecting supplementary B-roll footage that enhances the narrative and message.
• Working autonomously from creative briefs with minimal supervision.
• Editing diverse footage sources including professional cameras, iPhones, and occasional drone recordings.
• Producing clean subtitles and overlay text graphics.
• Performing audio refinements such as cleanup, volume balancing, and music selection.
• Applying uniform colour correction in line with brand guidelines.
• Maintaining an organised system for raw files, project assets, exports, and client folders.
• Modifying editing styles to fit varied brands and industries.
• Consistently producing high-standard work and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications and Tools

• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing.
• Experience in editing social media videos focused on short-form content.
• Skills in audio editing, colour grading, and creating subtitles.
• Familiarity with professional camera footage handling.
• Experience using Google Drive for file management.
• Basic knowledge of motion graphics is advantageous.
