Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Utility Locator to join our team in Greater Sydney. This role is primarily field-based, with support from experienced management, office staff, and colleagues specializing in locating and surveying. You will be accountable for conducting field operations, communicating findings precisely, and lending your technical expertise to diverse projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Utilize electromagnetic locating equipment and ground penetrating radar to identify and locate underground services.
• Analyze BYDA plans, construction drawings, and other available service documentation in conjunction with on-site observations.
• Accurately mark underground services and relay findings and limitations clearly to clients and site teams.
• Document comprehensive field notes, including photographs, sketches, and reports.
• Collaborate with surveyors and other team members on utility mapping, nondestructive digging (NDD), and interdisciplinary projects.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Current CERTLOC certification.
• Proven hands-on experience with electromagnetic locating devices and GPR technology.
• Comprehensive understanding of AS5488 standards and utility quality level classifications.
• Ability to read and interpret BYDA plans and evaluate site conditions appropriately.
• Valid Construction White Card and current driver's license.

Additional competencies such as concrete scanning, utility mapping, CCTV, or NDD experience will be highly valued. Relevant certifications including RIW, WPCG, ESI, Workers on Foot, confined space entry, and gas testing are advantageous.
