Senior Telecom Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Telecom Engineer to provide expert support across key business functions by delivering specialized IT and Telecommunication technical knowledge. The role requires planning and monitoring assigned projects to meet goals and KPIs efficiently.

Challenges

• Managing telecommunication service operations on-premises or cloud platforms to meet business needs.
• Preparing and implementing new or revised services through effective change management.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, security, and professional standards.
• Utilizing telecommunication infrastructure management tools to automate provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of components.
• Responding promptly to issues to maintain operational and project KPIs.
• Operating with considerable autonomy within clear accountability frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle the full scope of tasks needed for managing telecom system hardware and software, including multiple platforms and networks.
• Offer technical guidance to ensure operational procedures are applied correctly and mentor junior staff on best practices.
• Customize tools to automate provisioning, testing, and deployment of telecom infrastructure.
• Assist in planning and carrying out telecom system installations and maintenance, including virtualized environments.
• Execute infrastructure updates and maintenance safely with appropriate tools and follow protocols related to safety and security.
• Help develop telecommunication system designs outlining objectives, scope, management strategies, reliability, security, and other critical specifications.
• Manage lifecycle activities for relatively straightforward communication systems such as investigation, analysis, design, testing, maintenance, and upgrades, supporting more complex systems as needed.
• Lead small-scale projects or sub-projects through all phases, including risk and issue management to ensure project success.
• Prioritize, diagnose, and resolve incidents in line with established procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering fields related to computer, telecommunication technology, IT, electrical and electronics, or information systems.
• At least 8 years of IT experience demonstrating competence in core applications, tools, and methodologies.
• Understanding and familiarity with relevant national and international IT/Telecommunication standards.
• Proven project management experience.
• Experience working within IT support environments.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Technical specialization combined with broad IT/Telecommunication domain knowledge.
• Adherence to risk, security, and business continuity management principles.
