Senior Technical Staff, AI Architect - Agentic AI/GenAI

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned AI Engineer to lead the technical design, engineering, and deployment of complex enterprise AI systems. This senior position demands a combination of practical engineering excellence, architectural vision, and leadership skills to establish common engineering standards and reusable design patterns across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement production-level agentic AI and multi-agent system designs.
• Define and manage agent orchestration alongside tool execution, state tracking, workflow handling including retries, fallbacks, and system recovery.
• Develop robust agent cycles encompassing reasoning, action, observation, validation, and completion stages.
• Design workflows optimized for both deterministic and non-deterministic scenarios according to application needs.
• Develop scalable frameworks for context management, memory, retrieval, and knowledge integration within AI systems.
• Create reusable AI components such as capabilities, plugins, skills, with integration patterns involving technologies like MCP and A2A.
• Lead engineering efforts for AI system evaluation, including development of test harnesses, observability, LLM operations, and effective debugging techniques for production AI.
• Provide technical leadership independently and promote reusable engineering standards across engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers, and subject matter experts to advance strategic tech initiatives.
• Assess and contribute to technology roadmaps focusing on platform durability, maintainability, AI readiness, and engineering best practices.

Candidate Profile

• Proficient in agentic AI, multi-agent systems, and large language model (LLM) based application development.
• Strong foundation in software engineering practices including specification-driven development, test-driven development (TDD), Domain-Driven Design, API creation, and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience in context engineering, building memory architectures, and working with retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Comfortable working with graph technologies such as labeled property graphs (LPG), Resource Description Framework (RDF), knowledge graphs, and GraphRAG.
• Skilled with AI evaluation methodologies, test harness construction, system observability, and performance testing.
• Experience integrating AI tools, interoperability frameworks like skills, plugins, MCP, Agent-To-Agent (A2A) communication, and tool invocation.
• Knowledge of token economics, inference optimization, model routing, and latency as well as cost reduction strategies.
• Familiarity with LLMOps and AgentOps, managing AI in production environments.
• Understanding of AI-assisted software development life cycles (SDLC) and agentic coding methodologies.
• Insight into AI user experience patterns such as Agent-GUI and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Expertise with multimodal AI systems including voice, image, and text processing.
• Proven ability to provide autonomous technical leadership, collaborate effectively, and influence engineering teams.
