About BNZ and the Role

At Bank of New Zealand (BNZ), we do more than banking; we foster a collaborative, agile atmosphere that encourages innovation with the mindset: "If you can imagine a better future, let's find a way." We focus on wellbeing, flexible work arrangements, and generous leave policies while providing ample opportunities for professional growth and learning. BNZ Workplace Technology is a high-performance team committed to delivering superior workplace technology experiences for our people.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to join our Productivity team, playing a vital role in shaping the future of workplace technology. This position can be based in Auckland or Wellington. As a trusted technical expert, you will lead intricate projects, provide technical guidance across productivity platforms, and champion the adoption of modern workplace technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and improve platforms such as SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Loop, Microsoft Stream, and Microsoft 365.
  • Promote and optimize use of Microsoft 365, Adobe, and other productivity tools across the organization.
  • Support AI innovation by leveraging Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Power Platform.
  • Offer technical leadership in incident management, problem solving, and platform enhancement activities.
  • Mentor and guide team members, sharing expert technical knowledge.

Measures of Success

  • Recognized as a trusted expert delivering secure, scalable, and dependable technology solutions.
  • Drive enhancements in productivity and collaboration throughout BNZ.
  • Influence technical decisions and navigate complex challenges effectively.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to team member growth.

Desired Attributes

  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing colleagues.
  • Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • A forward-thinking mindset oriented towards innovation and continuous improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
  • Knowledge of AI technologies such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Power Platform.
  • Understanding of security and governance within enterprise IT environments.
  • Proven track record delivering cloud migrations, technology adoption projects, or workplace transformation initiatives.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in workplace technology, cloud services, or related technical disciplines.

Additional Information

This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking company with a proud culture dedicated to helping New Zealanders find their way. We are passionate about building a workplace where collaboration and collective success take precedence, as expressed in the Māori proverb: "Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini" — Success is not the work of an individual, but the work of many.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we reserve the right to close the recruitment early if suitable candidates are found.
