Senior Technical Program Manager, Enterprise Productivity - Communicate & Connect

Role Overview

The Enterprise Productivity (EP) Communicate & Connect team seeks a seasoned Senior Technical Program Manager to serve as the program management cornerstone for our newly integrated pillar that encompasses communication tools used by over a million Amazon employees — including Slack, Zoom, telephony, fax, and email. Reporting directly to the pillar's leader, this role has two key objectives: collaborating with EP's Principal Engineer for AI-native software advancements to translate broad technical goals into a structured and measurable delivery program spanning over 50 services, and overseeing the primary mechanism that tracks, reports, and drives business outcomes for the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Principal Engineer to guide the AI-native software development lifecycle transformation, which includes feature specification, AI-driven code generation, automated testing, and intelligent continuous integration/delivery, tracking adoption across multiple teams especially in Dublin.
• Coordinate and manage deliveries across several high-level engineering initiatives such as AI agent governance, email security modernization, vendor API reliability, and AI-native SDLC; maintain visibility and management of cross-team dependencies and risks.
• Own the business cadence for the entire communication and collaboration organization by managing business reviews, synthesizing narratives, compiling metrics, and assembling essential documents.
• Create and update a comprehensive deliverables tracker spanning all services, linking commitments, goals, statuses, and risks, and use this to ensure accountability across teams.
• Integrate individual team plans into unified operational and goal documents to present a cohesive strategy to EP leadership.
• Lead cross-service programs involving multiple platforms and effectively influence priorities and resource allocations without direct managerial authority, leveraging data-driven approaches.
• Identify possible risks in delivery and operations at early stages and propose mitigation plans before they escalate.
• Streamline and refine operational processes to minimize bureaucratic overhead and maximize delivery efficiency.
• Participate in recruiting and mentoring TPMs and engineers, promoting program management best practices throughout the team.

A Typical Week

You might coordinate closely with the Principal Engineer on adoption progress and blockers related to AI-native development, conduct cross-service dependency reviews, gather and update metrics from service owners for the deliverables tracker, and prepare narratives for business reviews aimed at EP leadership. This role requires juggling detailed technical discussions with executive-level briefings within the same timeframe.

The Communicate & Connect group forms a vital part of Enterprise Productivity that manages critical productivity services enabling over a million Amazon employees to communicate and collaborate effectively. This unit unifies messaging, meetings, voice, and email platforms to provide seamless user experiences without service interruptions. The Dublin hub is the largest engineering site for EP outside the US, central to our ongoing transformation efforts. Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in technical program management in partnership with software engineering teams.
• Proven skills in managing programs that span multiple cross-functional teams, including process development and release coordination.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
• Proven track record leading complex, large-scale IT, technical, or engineering programs.
• Experienced in articulating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions amid fast-paced, ambiguous scenarios.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills capable of simplifying sophisticated technical concepts for executive audiences.
• Direct experience managing business operation cycles such as business reviews and planning, and presenting findings to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background managing projects across cross-functional teams with a focus on establishing sustainable processes and coordinating releases.
• Experience setting and reporting on KPIs/SLA to oversee multi-million dollar business initiatives and reporting to executive leadership.
• Familiarity with Data and AI-related technology domains including AI/ML, generative AI, analytics, databases, and storage.
• Contributions to architectural design covering patterns, scalability, and reliability or experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering lead.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills, including with leadership, and proficiency using products like Microsoft Office.
• History of driving execution on large-scale project plans involving multiple teams to meet business objectives.
• Ability to use analytical data and metrics to influence senior leadership and guide organizational transformations.
• Expertise in program management disciplines such as scope, scheduling, risk identification, and critical path management.
• Experience working with both in-house service development and third-party SaaS platform integrations.
