Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and meticulous US Tax Preparer to join our expanding tax department. The candidate will be responsible for the precise preparation of various business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax laws across the US. This role works closely with Tax Managers and team members to deliver high-quality tax services on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complex US federal and state income tax returns for business entities including Forms 1120, 1120S, and 1065.
- Enter tax data accurately using specialized tax software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, and Drake.
- Organize and evaluate tax documents supplied by clients.
- Apply correct tax treatments as per current IRS regulations and client-specific scenarios.
- Communicate effectively with tax managers and reviewers to address questions and fix discrepancies.
- Examine prior year tax returns to ensure alignment and correctness.
- Maintain thorough documentation and working papers following firm protocols.
- Adhere to internal deadlines ensuring all filings are accurate and submitted timely.
- Contribute to tax planning and compliance initiatives as required.
- Stay informed on updates to IRS rules and state tax legislation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience preparing US tax returns.
- Strong understanding of US tax principles, regulations, and return forms mentioned above.
- Familiarity with US tax preparation software including CCH Axcess, QuickBooks, Drake, and UltraTax preferred.
- Knowledge of specialized tax forms like 5471s and 8865s is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
- Excellent organization and time management capabilities.
- Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to function autonomously and collaboratively within a virtual team environment.
Work Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time employment.
- Shift timing is from 2 PM to 11 PM.
- Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
