Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a Tax Senior Expert with a strong Finance or Accounting background, possessing substantial knowledge of both international and local tax regulations, especially Qatar's tax laws. This position is responsible for managing complex tax compliance activities and ensuring precise tax reporting and accounting according to IFRS across the entire corporate group.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate income tax calculations and administer VAT and Withholding Tax compliance for the Qatar parent entity.
- Manage and ensure accurate tax compliance submissions throughout other group locations, aligning with the respective local tax regulations.
- Assist in preparing current and deferred tax computations, including tax provisions and Pillar Two disclosures according to IAS 12 standards.
- Conduct detailed analysis of cross-border Withholding Tax, evaluate double tax treaty applications, and support transfer pricing compliance across group companies.
- Support tax-related transaction analysis including M&A due diligence and contract reviews to assess potential tax risks.
- Contribute actively to tax-related technology and system rollouts such as Oracle TRCS and EPM platforms to enhance automation of tax provisioning and reporting.
- Establish robust tax controls, oversee sectional budget planning, and manage detailed documentation for tax audits and disputes.
- Collaborate with subsidiary teams in various jurisdictions and contribute to group tax reporting including Country-by-Country Reporting and monitoring of Pillar Two compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Taxation, or Business from a recognized university is mandatory.
- Deep understanding of international tax frameworks, IFRS accounting especially IAS 12, and current developments like OECD BEPS initiatives and Pillar Two global minimum tax regulations.
- Knowledge of Qatar's Income Tax Law, Executive Regulations, and applicable double taxation treaties is advantageous.
- Experience in complex tax compliance, corporate financial accounting, deferred tax calculations, and risk management.
- Practical exposure to tax provision and reporting software such as Oracle TRCS or similar platforms.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is considered a plus.
- Experience working in the GCC region or within multinational corporate environments is preferred.
