Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an inaugural Solutions Engineer to join our rapidly expanding SaaS organization headquartered in Sydney, supported by $100 million in Series C capital and serving major clients such as Netflix, Canva, and Uber. This pivotal individual contributor position offers a unique chance to establish and shape the Solutions Engineering practice within the region, collaborating closely with Enterprise Account Executives (AEs) on strategic, high-impact enterprise engagements and influencing regional growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end pre-sales technical process including customized demonstrations, hands-on technical workshops, comprehensive solution scoping, and articulating business impact analyses.
- Develop and document current and future state system architectures for prospective clients, engaging multiple stakeholders across IT, ERP, and CRM divisions.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical experts and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate strategically with Enterprise AEs to construct compelling, value-driven business cases beyond mere product feature walk-throughs.
- Contribute to defining best practices and performance standards for the Solutions Engineering team as it establishes its presence in the local market.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer role within a SaaS company specializing in complex, enterprise-level system integrations.
- Proficiency working with RESTful APIs, understanding integration patterns rather than just platform functionality.
- Demonstrated ability to connect and integrate multiple disparate systems into cohesive workflows beyond simple platform configurations.
- Strong intuition and expertise in enterprise sales, adept at navigating deals involving multiple stakeholders and crafting compelling business cases.
- Experience with ERP or CRM integration ecosystems is highly desirable, including capability to produce architectural diagrams and facilitate technical workshops.
- Familiarity with sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC or comparable value-based frameworks is a significant advantage.
What This Role Is Not
- This position is not a hands-on coding role; it prioritizes technical understanding and the ability to translate technology concepts effectively.
- This is not a role involving simple point-and-click platform interactions; it requires expertise in managing complex, integration-intensive sales processes.
