This Senior Software Engineering Manager role is based in Vancouver, BC and requires onsite or hybrid presence. You will lead and inspire diverse, global engineering teams while collaborating closely with senior management to achieve high-quality, reliable game capabilities and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all facets of people leadership including recruitment, career development, performance evaluation, and promotions for dispersed engineering teams.
• Promote employee well-being by recognizing and addressing stress factors to maintain a healthy team environment.
• Lead mentoring programs and facilitate knowledge exchange to support engineers’ professional growth.
• Drive hiring processes to build strong engineering teams aligned with cultural values.
• Champion an agile work culture that balances delivery goals with quality and craftsmanship.
• Assess and plan technical resources necessary to meet project objectives.
• Establish and oversee technical processes, task management, and development plans for engineering features.
• Coordinate strategic planning efforts with cross-functional collaborators including project partners and product owners.
• Enhance development workflows, tooling, and iteration speed to boost productivity.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and engineering practices through conferences, seminars, and tech meetups.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years managing agile engineering teams comprising 6 or more engineers.
• Proven experience with mentoring engineers, setting goals, mediation, and career guidance.
• Skillful in talent acquisition, including interviewing and hiring based on staffing needs.
• Strong technical knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and C++ enabling effective coaching of software engineers.
• Proficiency with development tools such as Perforce, Git, and Visual Studio.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Deployment best practices.

Compensation & Benefits

For candidates based in British Columbia, the expected salary range is CAD $141,400 to $204,400 depending on location (e.g., Vancouver vs. Victoria). Benefits include three weeks of vacation per year, 10 days paid sick leave, parental leave top-ups, comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, retirement plans, and potential eligibility for bonuses and incentive programs.
