The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Auckland office, working in a hybrid model with three days onsite and two days remote weekly. This role is integral in shaping both Kami's growth and user experience. The ideal candidate has a strong product sense and balances autonomy with effective collaboration, engaging directly with customers and internal teams to innovate and improve our product continuously.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, test, and deploy new features enhancing user experience and aligning with company product goals.
• Maintain and refine existing software functionality to ensure efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to translate feedback and ideas into robust technical implementations.
• Contribute code improvements to both frontend and backend systems, ensuring system stability, security, and timely resolution of bugs.
• Incorporate user feedback to guide product enhancements, balancing user satisfaction with business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes, tools, and workflows to optimize productivity and prioritization.
• Mentor and support peers through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical guidance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of six years' experience as a software engineer.
• Proficient in modern programming languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Well-versed in web technologies and cloud infrastructure.
• Experienced with scalable backend systems and API development.
• Comfortable working in agile environments and collaborative teams.
• Strong debugging skills with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
