Senior Software Engineer - Java API Developer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java API Developer to engineer robust, scalable backend systems tailored for the digital advertising sector. In this capacity, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and refining backend services that empower Mobile Ad SDKs and AI-enabled offerings like recommendation engines, monetization platforms, and intelligent ad delivery frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design scalable, secure RESTful APIs employing Java 11+ and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Lead full-cycle backend feature delivery, from conceptualization through deployment.
• Create and sustain backend systems supporting AI-driven products such as recommendation models and predictive tools.
• Integrate and operationalize machine learning models within backend infrastructures for real-time decision-making.
• Design optimized data schemas and enhance database queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL) for both performance and reliability.
• Implement API security protocols utilizing OAuth2, JWT, and role-based controls.
• Engineer backend systems to efficiently handle high concurrency, large-scale data, and low latency demands.
• Apply observability best practices, including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting mechanisms.
• Engage in peer code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decisions ensuring top engineering standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams spanning Analytics, Product, SDK, UI, Ad server, DevOps, and QA to deploy AI-driven capabilities.
• Utilize generative AI tools and advanced prompt engineering to boost productivity and quality of code.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Three to six years of Java development experience in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Strong command of Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming, data structures, and J2EE technologies.
• Proficient with Spring Frameworks including Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Expertise in RESTful services and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of SQL, schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and complex querying.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes as well as CI/CD tooling including Jenkins, Maven, and Git.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance systems in the AdTech domain is a plus.
• Knowledge of Python programming and integration with AI/ML workflows.
• Understanding of advanced AI topics such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), autonomous AI agents, model fine-tuning, and recommendation algorithms.
• Experience with unit testing (JUnit), test-driven development (TDD), code refactoring, and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to take technical ownership and work independently.

Educational Qualification

A bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is required.
