About the Infra Platform Team

The Infra Platform team brings together experts in Kubernetes, service mesh technologies, cloud platforms, and core services to deliver high-performance, reliable, and secure infrastructure. Our collective mission is to develop and maintain the cloud-based systems that keep Airwallex fast, secure, and highly available, facilitating seamless cross-border payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage cloud services on platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Enhance system security, reliability, and ease of use for internal engineering teams.
• Contribute to scaling our services for global expansion.
• Automate processes extensively to minimize manual intervention.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and security teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges.

Candidate Qualifications

• At least six years of experience working with large-scale, distributed systems and a thorough understanding of RESTful API design principles.
• Proficient with public cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure), Infrastructure as Code, and Kubernetes; experience with Istio service mesh is required.
• Ability to develop services primarily in Golang, with Python as an alternative.
• A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong expertise in security principles and practical implementation of security best practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

Experience Levels

Senior Software Engineers typically have around seven years or at least six years of professional engineering experience and demonstrate deep knowledge in complex project architecture and code design. For SDE2 engineers, a minimum of three years (preferably four or more) of engineering experience is expected, with the ability to independently resolve coding and system design challenges.
