Senior Software Engineer (Golang / Java / Python)

Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be integral to a team of experienced engineers responsible for the full product lifecycle—from design through development, maintenance, and testing. You will deepen your understanding of core NetApp technologies as well as cloud and storage systems. Your involvement spans from initial product conception to hands-on coding and architectural decisions, collaborating across teams to shape scalable cloud products utilized by thousands of customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software, addressing bugs and incorporating customer feedback through Root Cause Analyses.
• Engage actively in the design and coding process throughout product development phases.
• Participate in technical discussions within the team and across functions to review and implement design and development strategies.

Required Skills and Experience

• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities combined with strong coding and system design skills.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience in data protection technologies, particularly in designing and developing Backup and Restore software.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Golang.
• Experience with Python, Java, or C# considered beneficial.
• Solid understanding of Linux or similar Unix-based operating systems.
• Strong grasp of data structures and algorithms.
• Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Experience in filesystem development and distributed system design is preferred.
• Familiarity with container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker, along with hands-on experience in cloud service APIs such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, is advantageous.
• Knowledge of infrastructure components including hypervisors, cloud storage, databases, caching, object/block storage, scaling, monitoring, load balancing, and networking is a plus.

Additional Information

This role generally requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. For managerial or executive positions, typically at least 6 years of related experience is expected.
