Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer specializing in full stack development to contribute to shaping the future landscape of investment services for Australians. This role involves crafting and enhancing customer-facing applications that facilitate money management, investments, and clear understanding of investment performance. Responsibilities

• Lead the complete delivery process of significant full-stack features and technical solutions spanning investment, payments, portfolio management, and reporting products.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain dependable software solutions using technologies such as Vue, Rust, Node.js, GraphQL, and various modern databases and data stores.
• Participate in technical design and solution formulation by balancing customer experience, maintainability, efficiency, security, and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate closely with product teams, engineers, and broader Product Engineering departments to translate multifaceted business and customer challenges into effective technical solutions, aligning strategies across intersecting products and platforms.
• Take responsibility for resolving complex engineering challenges throughout customer workflows, including investigation, debugging, and troubleshooting production issues.
• Advocate for and utilize AI-assisted engineering methods to boost development effectiveness, quality, and pace, while sharing insights and contributing to continuous product delivery evolution.
• Support robust engineering methodologies encompassing code quality assurance, automatic testing, observability, secure coding standards, and operational resilience.
• Conduct code and design reviews, providing constructive feedback, and mentoring junior engineers to enhance their skills.
• Identify and recommend improvements to increase scalability, reliability, and maintainability of software products and infrastructure.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven track record delivering production-level software as a senior full-stack engineer with end-to-end responsibility including design, implementation, testing, and support.
• Strong expertise in front-end, back-end, and API development with the capability to make effective technical decisions across all phases of delivery.
• Experience in designing and building services interfacing with live databases and data stores emphasizing data reliability, integrity, and performance.
• Solid foundation in software engineering best practices such as maintainable architecture, automated testing, code reviews, system observability, reliability, and secure development techniques.
• Demonstrated aptitude for tackling complex technical challenges, navigating ambiguity, and collaborating efficiently across product and engineering teams.
• Proactive adoption of AI-enhanced development processes and tools to elevate engineering productivity and outcomes.

Nice-to-Have Expertise

• Hands-on experience with Vue, Rust, Node.js, GraphQL, and contemporary databases or data storage systems.
• Background in producing software products within financial services such as investing, wealth management, payments, or brokerage sectors, with particular familiarity in transactions, portfolios, or reporting functionalities.
