Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing our Workforce product. This position involves defining frontend architecture, practices, and engineering standards throughout all product development stages—from concept and prototyping to deployment and iteration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and designers to translate vague ideas into intuitive and resilient web applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain frontend applications for the Workforce product.
  • Define and continuously improve frontend architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards.
  • Create reusable React components and UI primitives shared across the product suite.
  • Contribute to and evolve the design system and component libraries.
  • Work closely with designers to implement accessible, responsive, and polished user interfaces.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver complete product capabilities.
  • Lead technical discussions and participate in architectural decision-making.
  • Write maintainable, high-quality code with extensive unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
  • Identify and solve complex frontend performance, usability, and reliability issues.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 6 years professional experience working on modern frontend web applications.
  • Strong proficiency with React and TypeScript.
  • Solid experience in creating accessible interfaces adhering to WCAG standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern JavaScript/TypeScript and browser technologies.
  • Expertise in designing reusable, modular React components.
  • Hands-on experience building or enhancing design systems and shared component libraries spanning multiple teams or products.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks and component libraries such as shadcn/ui, Radix UI, or equivalents.
  • Thorough understanding of frontend architecture, state management, data fetching, and application structuring.
  • Ability to create responsive, accessible, and high-performance web applications.
  • Strong grasp of frontend testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (B.Sc. or M.Sc.).
  • Some experience with Python or other backend programming languages.
  • Expertise in modern CSS methodologies, especially utility-first CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS.
  • Experience with Storybook-driven development, visual regression testing or component-level testing.
  • Knowledge of frontend performance optimizations including Core Web Vitals and profiling tools.
  • Experience with AI-enhanced user experiences, large language models, or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and frontend deployment processes.
  • Experience working in a startup or entrepreneurial environment with an agile mindset.

Benefits

  • Annual and milestone leave entitlements.
  • Sick leave provisions.
  • Generous parental leave options.
  • Health and dental insurance coverage.
  • Pension contribution plan.
  • Support for learning and professional growth.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Benefits for commuting.
  • Modern office situated in Dublin City Centre.

Work Environment and Location
