Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related engineering fields
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development
• Advanced proficiency in Java programming
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot and the Java ecosystem
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark in production environments for data processing
• Deep understanding of big data architectures and distributed data processing systems
• Familiarity with batch and streaming data processing methods
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
• Experience working with Kafka or similar messaging/event streaming platforms
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Proven ability to design scalable and high-performance backend systems
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and container-based development
• Strong skills in system design, performance analysis, and problem-solving
• Proficient use of AI-assisted software development tools
• Experience with coding agents and agentic software development methodologies
• Ability to independently verify AI-generated solutions for technical accuracy
• Capability to lead technical decision-making in complex and ambiguous problems
• Technical leadership, code review, and mentoring experience
• Strong ownership mentality and outcome-focused work approach
• Excellent English language skills for documentation and presentations
• Work location: Doha, Qatar
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with customers to understand their requirements and relay these effectively to the technical team
• Collaborate with customers to identify and detail requirements
• Design and develop services based on Java and Spring Boot
• Contribute to the architecture of large-scale data processing systems
• Design and build Apache Spark-based batch and streaming data processing solutions
• Resolve challenges related to performance, scalability, and fault tolerance in high-volume data streams
• Make technical decisions in microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture domains
• Guide the architectural usage of Kafka or similar event streaming technologies
• Design data models, service boundaries, API contracts, and data flows
• Lead improvements in SQL and analytical data processing performance
• Conduct root cause analysis for critical production issues and implement permanent fixes
• Advance coding standards focusing on quality, testability, performance, security, and maintainability
• Lead code reviews and provide technical mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers
• Document technical designs and architectural decisions
• Present technical solutions to customers and stakeholders with varying technical knowledge
• Translate ambiguous or high-level customer needs into feasible technical implementations
• Provide technical direction for demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concept initiatives
• Effectively utilize AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle
• Manage coding agents during analysis, design, development, testing, refactoring, documentation, and debugging phases
• Develop and enhance agentic development workflows involving multiple AI agents
• Assess AI-generated code and technical decisions for accuracy, security, performance, architectural conformance, and sustainability
• Create methodologies to enhance the team's efficiency through AI-assisted development workflows
• Own research tasks where technical uncertainty exists, evaluate alternatives, and facilitate decision-making
• Monitor technical topics from development through to production results

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ClickHouse or other high-performance analytical databases
• Knowledge of Apache Flink
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native systems
• Experience with workflow engines, orchestration, or distributed job scheduling systems
• Understanding of lakehouse, data lake, or similar modern data platform architectures
• Exposure to large-scale real-time data processing systems
• Experience with LLM-based applications and agent architectures
• Familiarity with multi-agent systems
• Knowledge of AI integration technologies such as RAG, tool calling, or MCP
• Experience with AI-assisted developer tooling or internal developer platform projects
• Involvement in technical discovery, solution architecture, proposals, demos, or proof of concept efforts
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular or React
• Arabic language skills (preferred)
