Role Summary

We seek a Senior Software Engineer to join our Chromium engineering team, supporting MARS, Menlo's internal AI initiative. Candidates should have robust C++ expertise, preferably with practical Chromium experience across layers such as content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking. The position involves building and reinforcing browser functionalities essential for Menlo's AI-driven features. It blends deep system and networking engineering with hands-on AI agent development and MCP (Model Context Protocol) server implementation, alongside cloud infrastructure technologies like AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Linux.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Chromium-based browser components in C++ spanning content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking layers that enable Menlo's security and AI features.
• Utilize strong networking fundamentals and HTTP security knowledge to enhance browser isolation and network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the MARS team to build and incorporate AI agent features and MCP server technology into Menlo's platform.
• Create supporting tools, services, and prototypes in Python or Rust alongside core C++ development.
• Deploy, manage, and operate cloud infrastructure workloads on AWS and GCP using Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Debug, optimize, and maintain performance-critical, high-scale systems within the browser and its supporting infrastructure.
• Work cross-functionally with product, security, and AI engineering teams to deliver reliable, end-to-end solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to expedite coding, testing, and code reviews while maintaining quality.

Key Outcomes and Metrics

• Deliver reliable, high-performance Chromium-based features powering internal AI initiatives while sustaining Menlo's standards for security and performance.
• Meet feature delivery milestones according to the MARS roadmap.
• Maintain performance and stability of Chromium components measured by crash rates and latency.
• Reduce manual efforts through internally adopted agent and MCP-based tooling.
• Ensure timely and quality code reviews of C++ contributions.
• Successfully integrate AI agents or MCP servers into internal workflows and products.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C++.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, including HTTP security.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Chromium layers such as content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking, or large-scale, performant C++ systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust for tooling and service development.
• Background in building or integrating AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms AWS and GCP, infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Tornado web server, HAProxy load balancer, and AWS EC2 services.
