Role Responsibilities

• Engineer backend systems emphasizing scalability, high performance, and reliability.
• Manage substantial, complex projects through all stages from planning to deployment.
• Work closely with product and customer teams to ensure engineering efforts meet business objectives.
• Balance hands-on coding tasks with directing the technical vision of the engineering team.
• Contribute to shaping Canals’ long-term growth as the company scales alongside its customers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior-level experience in backend engineering, building scalable and performant systems.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, product-driven settings.
• Strong ownership mentality ensuring high standards of project delivery.
• Capacity to mentor and unblock fellow engineers, with skills in code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Experience at high-growth startups or small teams is advantageous.
